Montana Breweries Shine in International Competition, Winning Gold and Bronze at World Beer Cup

In recent years, two Helena breweries have made headlines by winning awards at the World Beer Cup. Lewis and Clark Brewing Company, led by owner and president Max Pigman, won gold for Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen American wheat beer. This beer, which was the first one brewed by the company, has now won gold at the World Beer Cup for the second time. Pigman attributed his team’s success to their dedication to quality and consistency in producing this award-winning beer, which has a 5% alcohol content and a cloudy citrus flavor.

Meanwhile, Copper Furrow Brewing in Helena earned a bronze award for its Tmavé international dark lager, marking the first time the brewery has medalled at the World Beer Cup. Head brewer Nick Diehl expressed his gratitude for the accolade, emphasizing the significance of winning such a prestigious award from judges who are experts in the field. In addition to these two breweries from Helena, two other Montana breweries also won Bronze awards – Sacred Brewing Company in Kalispell and MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman.

The competition at the World Beer Cup was fierce, with over 2000 breweries submitting more than 9300 beers for judging. The judges awarded around 300 prizes across approximately 100 categories. With so many entries from around the world showcasing their talents in crafting world-class beers, it is clear that this competition is one of great importance in the world of beer production.
