Standout Girls Athletes: Tia Ice, Kylie McRoberts, Sophie Sheehan, Allie Streble, and Hailey Voss Impress in Softball and Lacrosse

In this week’s selection of standout athletes, the nominees for The Courier Journal’s girls athlete of the week have demonstrated impressive performances on either the softball diamond or lacrosse field. Voting is currently open for this prestigious award, and it will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The winner will be announced on Friday, so be sure to cast your vote!

Tia Ice from Assumption is a force to be reckoned with in softball. With seven hits and seven RBIs in games against Meade County, Mercy, and South Warren, she has truly shown her talent on the field. Similarly, Kylie McRoberts from Whitefield Academy has been a standout player with two wins and 16 strikeouts in games against Portland Christian and Jeffersontown.

In lacrosse, Sophie Sheehan from Ballard has made her mark by scoring eight goals and one assist in games against Collins and North Oldham. Allie Streble from Mercy has also had an impressive performance with eight hits, including a home run, three RBIs, and a walk in games against North Bullitt, Assumption, and Bullitt East. Finally, Hailey Voss from Sacred Heart has contributed five goals and one assist to help her team secure wins over Mercy and Mariemont (Cincinnati).
