Miami Beach’s Owner Feels Betrayed by the City: PAUL Bakery Closes Down After 17 Years

Man breaks Miami Beach business window with table just before closing – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Vladimir Alfa, the owner of PAUL Bakery on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, was caught off guard by a sudden surge in challenges that forced him to shut down his business after 17 years. Despite having faced many obstacles before, he was particularly disheartened by the deteriorating state of Miami Beach and its impact on local businesses like his.

Alfa blamed rising insurance costs, increasing labor expenses, and the growing presence of homelessness in the area for his decision to close down. He also pointed out that the changing landscape of Miami Beach, with empty stores and ongoing construction, had made it increasingly difficult for businesses to thrive.

Over the weekend, a surveillance video captured a man vandalizing his bakery by breaking a window. The perpetrator had grabbed a table from outside the bakery and thrown it at the glass. Alfa expressed shock at the senseless act of vandalism, which seemed to be unprovoked.

The incident marked yet another challenge for Alfa as he grapples with closing down his beloved business. However, he remained hopeful that by finding the perpetrator responsible for the vandalism, he could bring a sense of closure and justice to his loss.

Miami Beach Police are currently investigating the incident and seeking information about the suspect involved in the vandalism. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
