Flexible Future: The Brush Man Moves into Larger Mahomet Facilities with New Flex Warehouse Location

Mahomet Entrepreneurs to Construct Flex-Warehousing Facility on 10-Acre Site

Mahomet-based business The Brush Man is set to move into larger facilities with the approval of an action by the Mahomet City Council. Owner Dave Monahan plans to build a new flex warehouse location on a nearly 10-acre site in east Mahomet. The building will be around 25,000 square feet, with smaller units expected for other businesses that may need office and commercial warehouse space.

Monahan’s move has been eagerly anticipated as he has faced challenges finding suitable land for expansion in the area. Village Administrator Patrick Brown sees this development as a win-win for both Monahan’s company and the village, filling a need to keep businesses in the community.

The Brush Man, established in 1976 and purchased by Monahan in 2009, is a wholesaler of job-site supplies like brooms, trash bags, and paint brushes. Real estate agent Jill Guth from Guth & Associates in Champaign will be involved in marketing and leasing the spaces at the new location. The goal of this project is to retain jobs and provide space for other businesses that may need office and storage space.

Construction on the new facility is set to begin in the fall, with tenants that could vary from individuals looking to store their vintage car collection to contractor-based businesses needing office and storage space.
