The Clippers and Mavericks Battle for the Win in Western Conference Play-offs: The Story Behind the Final Minutes

Clippers fend off impressive Mavericks comeback to even the series

The Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks went head-to-head in a Western Conference play-off game, with the Clippers coming out on top with a score of 116-111. Despite being down by 31 points in the first half, the Mavericks staged an incredible comeback thanks to Kyrie Irving’s 40 points. However, James Harden and Paul George’s combined efforts of 33 points each helped the Clippers regain control in the final minutes and secure the win, tying the series at 2-2.

If the Mavericks had won, they would have set a new record for the biggest comeback win in NBA history. Luka Doncic put on an impressive performance with a triple double, scoring 29 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists. Despite his best efforts, Doncic could not lead his team to victory. The next game in the series will take place in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

In the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 97-92 to take a commanding 3-1 lead in their series. Jalen Brunson led from behind for the Knicks with his impressive performance of scoring 47 points and dishing out ten assists. He also made franchise history by becoming only the second player to post at least 30 points and ten assists in consecutive play-off games after Magic Johnson did it back in 1985.
