Young wrestler from Pennsylvania selected to represent US on Under-17 Freestyle team

Bethlehem Catholic High School sophomore secures spot on United States world wrestling team

Keanu Dillard, a sophomore at Bethlehem Catholic, has been selected to represent the United States of America on the U.S. Under-17 Freestyle wrestling team. He will be traveling to Amman, Jordan to participate in the U-17 world championships.

Dillard earned his spot on the team by winning the 55-kilogram (121 pounds) class at the U17 world team trials during the U.S. Open event in Las Vegas. At the trials, he emerged victorious in a best-of-three final against Slater Hicks of Valencia, Calif., winning both bouts and not allowing a single point. Throughout his sophomore year, Dillard finished with an impressive record of 41-5 overall after winning the PIAA 121-pound championship in March.

The U-17 world championships are scheduled to take place in Amman from August 19th through August 25th.
